THE IMPORTANCE of the quality of your headshots

How important is the quality of your headshots? When you post a quality headshot whether on your website or on social media you are portraying yourself as someone who is thorough and meticulous in their approach in everything you do. That will certainly be of interest to anyone who plan on doing business with you. How you present yourself to the outside world says a lot about how you will handle not only yourself but also the way you conduct business. When you have a quality headshot, the first impression you give is that when you undertake something, you do it with care. A really nice, clean professional headshot sets a nice precedent.

Sometimes people call me and tell me they just need a quick couple “shots”…(?) Right away I sense that they don’t want to put too much effort and care into it. They want a cheap and quick headshot not caring so much about the outcome. I find that quite odd because nowadays especially with online exposure on platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, IG, etc, I would think that one would want an optimal outcome for how they present themselves since thousands of individuals will potentially view their headshot. You would think that when someone is seeking new employment or want to give a first rate impression online that the quality of their headshot would be a priority.

When choosing a headshot photographer in Los Angeles, you need to review their website’s photography galleries and look for consistency in their work so that you know what to expect and spend your money wisely. I can’t tell you how many times potential clients have gone somewhere slightly cheaper only to call me afterwards and say they were trying to save a little but that in the end it wasn’t worth it because now their headshots have to be done again and the right way… People have to realize that it is worth every penny spending a little more if you’re confident in a photographer because you will more than likely be using that headshot for a few years. So in the long term it is definitely worth it, plus it’s a good feeling and boosts confidence to have an image, a headshot that is flattering and represents you the best way possible.

To me your headshot is something you should give a lot of consideration, it’s your calling card, the first impression you will give to anyone interested in either hiring you or simply doing business with you.
